Valencia Giles is an entrepreneur, business owner, author, composer, speaker, & philanthropist. She’s also a wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and mentor to women of all ages.
Why is Valencia passionate about fulfilling her God-given gifts and talents?
As a woman of faith, her personal desire is to model the Proverbs 31 woman. The Proverbs 31 woman is the perfect picture of a woman who had a full life (as a married woman with children & as a business woman). Similarly, Valencia is the owner of a successful business: the Lawrenceville-Suwanee School of Music. Valencia was able to open her business with $5,000 that she borrowed from her uncle. Within a year, her company was debt free and is still debt free today. She persevered through a recession & a heart attack when starting her business. She recently told her entrepreneurial story in the documentary short film: Beyond the Music: The Untold Story, which premiered at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia. This short film gives viewers a behind-the-scenes look at her musical family (a school with over 50+ teachers & 900 students). You get a firsthand look at how her school goes beyond music lessons to serve the community. Valencia is a true philanthropist, as her school meets the needs of foster care families, orphans, senior citizens, & more!
After being married for over 39 years & raising three children into successful adults, Valencia is purposeful about mentoring young moms, wives, singles, and college-aged women. Her motto is “I’m just another woman in the village,” as she believes that it “takes a village” for all of us to become the person God created us to be. When she started her faith journey, she was hired by her church to encourage college students, lead bible studies, host group workshops, & counsel young women. She’s continued to minister to women of all ages throughout her life.
Today, she’s received pastoral counseling training at GateCity church in Lawrenceville, GA. She enjoys using her pastoral training & life experience to counsel others. Valencia says, “throughout my life, I always formed relationships with women who taught me life principles. The bible says, “if you walk with the wise, you’ll be wise.” I love using my knowledge & wisdom to help young women mature as believers, wives, mothers, and business women.”
Valencia Giles has made a transformational impact on the lives of women from all walks of life, but she has a sweet spot for helping young children as well.
Due to her personal story of resilience as a child & her discovery of music as a therapeutic tool to process complicated emotions, she loves teaching children character-building truths related to self-confidence & achieving excellence in their craft. The artsy world usually tells children that their worth is equivalent to what they do. Valencia is passionate about teaching children a new way of thinking that affirms this truth: “you’re special before you ever do a thing.” She believes children can work hard & maintain a healthy view of themselves simultaneously.
Lastly, through her university studies & entrepreneurial work, she is an expert at training music teachers, while providing professional consultations for their music career. She loves giving teachers advice on how to get & keep students. She prepares them musically for the stage. She created her own music system, which are tools of education for kids of all ages.
Ultimately, Valencia is using her life experience & wisdom as a business owner, wife, & mom, to share messages of encouragement with people from all backgrounds. She would love to speak at your next event or gathering. Whether it’s a corporate function, ministry event, conference, or non-profit organization, Valencia is a gifted speaker who will motivate and captivate your audience. She is available for media interviews (virtually or in-person). After you hear Valencia speak, you will be inspired to pursue your talent, execute your dreams, rise above challenges, & balance your life as a mom, wife, leader, or business owner.
